Is Bad Air Quality Dangerous?

Are you having problems breathing? Do heart attacks run in your family? Then there may be some extra precautions you may want to look into when it comes to protecting your health. Things like having a poor Westchester air quality in your home can have dangerous effects not only on your health, but the health of your home.

Breathing dirty or polluted air can be very dangerous and detrimental to one's health. Dirty air could be the direct cause for respiratory problems and other complications in the lungs and heart. These complications include diminished lung function. This means your longs are going to have to work harder to get less work done which leads to laziness and drowsiness. Also, it is said that side effects of polluted air are very similar to that of second hand smoke side effects. These ways include the infamous coughing, wheezing, and sinus congestion. More serious problems in the lungs that arise from dirty air are slowing normal lung growth, damage to lung airways, worsening of asthma, and even lung cancer. So just by living in a society with somewhat polluted air, one cannot be near as healthy as he would if he lived in a clean air society. Death is even a possibility.

Then, there are the effects on the heart. Almost any problems involved with the heart are going to be rather serious. You could be a lucky and only experience cardiac arrhythmias, but you can also experience far worse problems. Air pollution has been directly related to heart attacks and cardiovascular disease.

Aside from the scares poor air quality can have on your health, it is not a friendly addition to your home's foundation if the cause of your problem is mould. Mold and mildew will continue to spread if not stopped, and they will eat away at your home's foundation. The last thing you want is an unstable roof and walls when trying to keep your family safe. Not to mention, your over property value is lower if your home is invested by mold.

Fortunately, almost no matter where you live, the chances of these conditions occurring are very rare. With that being said, though, it is something to be cautious of; The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that 65,000 Americans have problems due to dirty air. These dangers are hard to avoid. It is suggested to stay away from high traffic areas and areas next to factories, but other than that, the fate of your health is up in the air!
